Online Evaluation Programme

To complement your visit to the Safety Centre, we offer an exciting On-Line Evaluation Programme in the form of computer-based quizzes that assess the children’s safety knowledge and skills and reinforce the safety messages taught at the Centre.

Our School Liaison team can visit your school to administer the on-line quizzes before your visit, shortly after your visit and again after a 6-month interval.

Fun for Pupils
We have found that children enjoy using computers to take the fun interactive quizzes and are inspired to improve their scores.  These quizzes focus the children for their visit and inspire them to improve their scores at each stage adding value to the Safety Centre visit.  The children get instant on-screen feedback and can review and discuss their answers.

Informative for Teachers
The data produced by the Evaluation programme can offer opportunities for class discussions, helping teachers to reinforce learning and challenge misconceptions and check understanding after the visit.  As well as reinforcing all the safety messages, the quizzes assess knowledge gained and long term retention.  This data is all relevant to the PSHE and Citizenship curriculum and strands in Every Child Matters.

Booking the On-Line Evaluation Programme
Contact the Safety Centre and speak to the School Liaison team to arrange dates and times (the pre-visit quiz will be completed about a week before your visit).  Depending on which quiz option you select, the costs range from £50 - £150 (including travel) per class of up to 30 pupils.

The Safety Centre opened in 1994 as a partnership-based community safety project involving Thames Valley Police, Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service, health authorities, local government, other statutory organisations and the private sector. The centre is not centrally funded and as such relies heavily on donations and sponsorship.
