Safety Centre Receives Funding To Deliver Knife Crime Sessions

Funded Early Intervention Knife Crime Sessions To Be Delivered To School Children In Buckinghamshire

We are delighted to announce that The Safety Centre has received funding to deliver Early Intervention Knife Crime outreach education sessions to Year 5 and 6 children in schools across Buckinghamshire!

The funding will help our brilliant education team to reach out to schools across Buckinghamshire and provide children with essential safety education around the complex topic of knife crime.

Early Intervention Knife Crime Awareness

Tragically, recent news has highlighted the need for children to receive specialist education around the challenging topic of knife crime. The choice to carry a knife has life changing consequences that need to be highlighted, explored and explained in an age appropriate, sensitive way. Out highly qualified education team creates safe spaces for open conversations about a topic that can be very difficult to talk about.

Our session, which has been delivered across schools has received high praise for the way it addresses such a sensitive subject. Children are empowered by the session, giving them the confidence to make safe, positive decisions. They also feel reassured, knowing they have a support network they can reach out to if they need help.

Our mission at The Safety Centre Charity is for all children, young people and adults to have access to interactive, immersive and memorable safety education and training, enabling safe and flourishing communities. We are delighted that we are able to extend our reach further into Buckinghamshire through the help of this funding.

Sarah Surridge, Marketing Manager at the Safety Centre said

These sessions help young people make safe choices for themselves, their families and the communities they are living and growing up in. Having safe spaces to talk about these life changing decisions is essential as we support our communities to thrive through essential life-saving education.’
