History
The Safety Centre, "Hazard Alley", was officially opened in 1994 by Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Gloucester.
We celebrated our 10th birthday in 2004 and on this occasion The Duke of Kent visited while a local school group, Giffard Park, was on their tour.
Since our inception, over 300,000 school children have received our interactive safety education and we now have 20,000 children visiting us each year.
The Safety Centre has also encouraged and helped other areas to create their own centres.
In 2004, the Centre completed a major rebuild, including the installation of a disabled lift, which will improve the facilities for the children.
